This blog is going to be kind of confusing for me to write down, but I will try my best to make sure it is understandable! To give a little back story, most of you know that I love acting. Ever since I was about 7, I have always wanted to act, model, and write. That was my dream, my heart, my passion.
After I started attending Freedom Valley regularly I went on my first Missions Trip to the DR. This was by far one of the best things I have ever decided to do. After I returned home from my Missions Trip I really felt like God was pounding and tattooing missions into my heart. Yet, I was still confused.
Had I made up this calling because I felt as though I needed to do something with ministry?
No, well. At first I was scared that I did do that. As time went on though, I began to figure it all out. Through lots of prayer and asking lots of questions it all came together. I realized that yes, I did have a heart for missions and it would be something that I would take part in. I also had a major dream to act, model, and write. I thought that I was a horrible person because I was a Christian but I wasn't going to do something in ministry. As I started to have talks with other people I soon came to realize that I can still live my Christian life and be a light and show Jesus Christ to people even if I wasn't working in ministry. Yet, I am so blessed and I get to work in ministry, doing missions, which I love and also live my dreams that I have had for years.
I know that my actions and my words are powerful things. They can shake and change this world. I get to choose how they change this world, though. My words are my strength and they will change this world. My actions speak louder then my words and they will be used as an example for people to look upon. My heart to chase after my Lord will be a light to the darkness of this world. I'm such a lucky, lucky girl. I get to praise my God, and fulfill the dreams he has for me.
What's your calling? What will you do?
Romans 12:6-8
6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Everyone has a calling. Listen closely, be bold, and don't hold back. When times become confusing, seek truth and ask questions. We all have a purpose for being on this earth. Be patient, and be ready because answers are coming.
Leah, this is so cool!!
ReplyDeleteSo your calling is missions while writing? I think that's what I was reading into it! :)
Great blog! I would be interested in seeing where in the Bible it talks about mission's work and how it applies to you :)
ReplyDeleteloved the part about how it's YOUR CHOICE to do what you will with your words and actions; great truth!
