Ecclesiasties 10:17. Powerful.

"The quiet words of a wise person are better than the shouts of a foolish ruler." Ecclesiasties 10:17

Whaddddup followers. I have been reading through Ecclesiasties recently. Not going to lie, I'm in my second time reading it because it is slightly confusing to me. This is my favorite verse out of this book. I think that it is so extremely powerful and it can really teach someone something. First, I want to start by saying that I am a fool. I'm a fool but I want to be a wise person. I know that one of my biggest struggles is trying to not bring God up in conversation with my non-believing friends because I'm not sure how to answer them. I'm a fool.

How can I change my foolish ways and words? Well, I need to work on becoming wise. I will never get anywhere if I don't dig deep with God and really cry out to him. If I want answers I need to ask questions. If I want to be surrounded by his presence and filled with his spirit then I really need to dig deep and take ahold of him.

I would much rather whisper wise and true words then scream lies and foolish things. I want to be a powerful speaker. A powerful leader. I want a fire to stay ignited even if I'm not in a sense of worship. I want to be a light. A fire. I want to be wise. I will be all of this.

Wise or foolish. You choose which one you are. I choose wise. I'm glad I did.

  1. this is great. it's odd how sometimes the concept of "knowledge and learning" are almost looked down upon in the church as if it's the opposite of "following the spirit". God didn't give us a mind to turn it off and follow blindly - he wants us to know what decisions we're making and most importantly; WHY we're making those decisions. Certainly no one in the secular world is going to listen to even one thing we say unless we know why do what we do. I love that you have such a desire for learning and wisdom - it's hard work. Sometimes you even have to leave your friends and family to go somewhere you don't want to so that you can study and become intelligent :)
